Race Day Schedule:

TODAY - Sunday, March 16

3:30 p.m., NASCAR Cup Series: Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, FS1

Late Breaking News:

Green flag for the race is set to fall at 3:43 PM ET. The race will air on Fox Sports 1 (FS1). The is little risk of weather affecting the race. The high for the day at the track is 70°F.

No cars are set to go to the rear due to inspection or penalty concerns. Chevrolet topped the practice charts, with four of top five fastest practice laps. Ross Chastain was the fastest in practice, with Bubba Wallace behind. Wallace was the fastest Toyota in practice, Gragson was the fastest Ford in practice, in sixth.

In qualifying, Michael McDowell secured the pole position, his seventh and Spire Motorsport’s first ever. Logano is on the outside pole, with Cindric, Busch, Jones, and Bowman making up the two row behind in the starting grid. McDowell was the fastest Chevy, Logano was the fastest Ford, and Jones was the fastest Toyota.

Justin Haley was the only full time Cup driver to run the Truck Series race, finishing 11th. No Cup drivers were scheduled to run the Xfinity race, however Ty Dillon filled in as the relief driver for Josh Williams, taking over mid-race for Williams after some health concerns. That car finished 29th. There are no open cars set to run the Cup race.

Kyle Larson and Ty Gibbs ran the High Limit Sprint Car race last night at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway Dirt Track. Larson finished second. Gibbs was a DNF after a mid-race wreck, flipping multiple times. Christopher Bell was set to run yesterday’s High Limit race, which was canceled due to weather. It is the policy of the #20 team for Bell to not run other races withing 24 hours of a Cup race. This is not a JGR policy.
